What counts as a superyacht
Officially 24 m+ (MCA standard), but the market starts at 40 m. Above 60 m it's a megayacht; above 80 m a gigayacht.

Crewed superyacht charter
Above 40 metres, a yacht becomes a floating private hotel: 8-20 crew, water toys, jet-skis, submersibles, helipad on the largest.

Defining a superyacht: 40m and above
International convention sets the threshold at 24m, but the charter market calls a superyacht anything from 40m and a mega-yacht from 60m+. Above 80m the term is giga-yacht — only about twenty units in the global charter fleet.
At these sizes you systematically get 25-50m² cabins with marble bathrooms, multiple lounges, gym, spa, helipad (touch-and-go or certified), beach club with direct sea access, pocket submarine, jet-skis, Seabobs, motorised paddleboards.
Crew and service level
A 50m superyacht carries 11-14 crew: captain, first officer, chief engineer, starred chef, sommelier, hostesses, stewards, masseur, watersports instructors. Guest-to-crew ratio often drops below 1:1.
The chef crafts bespoke menus daily from your preferences; the sommelier builds an onboard cellar to your taste and budget. Yachts whose chef holds a gastronomic guide award are flagged in our shortlists.
Long itineraries and transatlantic logistics
Superyachts unlock programmes smaller yachts can't serve: 3-week Greece-Turkey cruise, Mediterranean-Caribbean transit in winter, Norway-Iceland expedition in northern summer. We coordinate Schengen paperwork, port agents, customs, and guest-chef logistics.
For long programmes, charter-management is often more cost-effective than back-to-back charters; we study the case with you beyond 4 weeks.

40-50 m: €250,000-500,000. 60-70 m: €600,000-1.2M. 80 m+: €1.5-3M/week. Plus 25-30% APA.

Can the superyacht cross to the Caribbean in winter?+
Most cross the Atlantic in November and return in April-May. Caribbean charter: December to April (St Barth, BVI, Antigua).
What guest paperwork is needed?+
Passenger manifest, passports, sometimes visas. The flag (Cayman, Marshall, Malta) and itinerary dictate the obligations. We handle it upfront.
How many guests can a superyacht host?+
Strict SOLAS rule: 12 guests maximum in charter, regardless of cabin count. Above that, the yacht becomes a 'passenger ship' and can no longer be privately chartered.
What's the real budget for a week on a 60m?+
Charter fee: €600,000-1,200,000. APA: 30%, so €180,000-360,000. Customary tip: 10-15%, so €60,000-180,000. Realistic total: €900,000-1,700,000 per week.
Can we have a guest starred chef onboard?+
Yes, frequent on 50m+. We work with around fifteen starred chefs available for embarkation. Cost: €5,000-25,000 per day depending on the chef.
